Convector

In contrast to infrared heating, a convector circulates air, primarily heating the room air. It is usually installed below a window. However, there are also freestanding convectors that are mainly used during transitional periods or as a supplement to the main heating system. The standing convector should have a frost protection circuit and sufficient heating levels to regulate the temperature accurately. When purchasing, one should also pay attention to how long the convector takes to heat up. Additionally, convectors with wheels offer a certain degree of mobility.

Fan heater

A fan heater is a fan that is powered by gas or electricity. An heating element warms the air flowing through it and distributes it in the room. Fan heaters are particularly suitable as a supplement to a central heating system. However, the electric fan heater is limited in its mobility, as it cannot be operated by battery due to its high power consumption and must always be plugged into a socket. Important for such devices is an overheating protection, as strong heat can otherwise lead to the melting of the plastic housing or a fire. Additionally, the fan heater should stand as freely as possible, as otherwise stagnant heat can build up and the fan heater will automatically switch off accordingly.

Heat lamp

The most common heat lamps are high-temperature lamps and are used, for example, as patio or changing table heaters. In general, it should be noted that such high-temperature lamps reach a very high temperature, thus posing a risk of burns. The patio heater is also called an outdoor heater and is mostly used in gastronomy or private gardens. The lamps are often powered by butane or propane gas. However, due to the high consumption and thus environmental impact, patio heaters are banned in some cities. The changing table heat lamp is designed to keep infants warm, for example, after a bath or during a nappy change. Such heat lamps are intended for short use only, always heat to a specific temperature to prevent overheating of the infant, and often have an automatic shut-off feature that turns off the lamp after 10-20 minutes. Normally, they have a heating power of 600 watts and are equipped with a shatter protection. Practical additions include a swivel head or a wall mount.
