The steam strength

Basically, buyers can refer to two values, namely continuous steam and vertical steam. Continuous steam indicates how much steam is emitted continuously in one minute. This value should be high, as the higher the value, the more steam reaches the soleplate of the iron. Plenty of steam produces wrinkle-free laundry. The weight

The water tank is always located in the steam station, so the iron is significantly lighter than a normal steam iron. You will notice this in your arms during long ironing sessions. The water tank should be removable from the steam station, as a permanently integrated tank has disadvantages. To fill and empty it, you always have to carry the entire station and the water, which is heavy together. The water tank is also smaller, so you have to refill water more often.

What water should you use?

You can safely use tap water, as modern steam stations have an anti-calc system built in. The power consumption of a steam station is also very important; the device should ideally be able to operate in ECO mode. In the long run, you save half of the electricity costs, and you also do a favour to the environment.

The steam station is practically a must, especially when children and many people are part of the household. It generates a lot of power, a lot of steam, and has many functions. Therefore, the noise level varies, and manufacturers significantly reduce the noise. So when buying, pay attention to the noise level while ironing; if you use the device often, you should prefer a quiet model. Quiet models can be found from 100 pounds.

Quick to set up

The heating time of a steam station is relatively short; after about 90 seconds, the iron delivers full power. This refers only to the steam performance; the soleplate of the iron heats up a little longer. The iron itself is very light and easy to handle; you do not have to move the water and can also use the steam station for short ironing sessions.

The price

For all steam stations, you need to dig a little deeper into your pocket; modern technology does not come for free. A conventional steam iron is significantly cheaper. Ultimately, this decision must be made individually, but a steam station has more power and offers you greater comfort, which ultimately leads to better ironing results.
