Just to prewarn...
I bought this off the back of other reviews saying you could use batteries you have for other Makita tools. I thought great! My impact drills have 2, I'll buy the hedge trimmer. Frustratingly this...View More isn't the case, not all Makita batteries are the same size and now I'll have to pay another £130 for ones that fit or return it. So thanks reviews, you were really unhelpful!!View Less

Amazed how long it runs on a fully charged 3 AH battery and how it cuts through branches that are a bit thick. Have a long hedge, around 12 meters, and one charge could take whole front and to of the hedge in one charge.

It started smoking after 2 years.
i took it to a guy that knows a lot about repairing makita.
he said it was the electronics that had burnt.
very disappointed in the quality i expect more than 2 years out of a 100euro item
