This Makita works as expected... cuts what it should. Nice to have the safety feature the requires both hands on the trimmer. It is heavy, as other reviewers have noted. But that is the tradeoff for something that really cuts...View More up to the spec. It is not battery operated - but I can run a heavy duty extension cord to reach what I need to reach.View Less

The trimmer is pretty good. Not to heavy, a bit top heavy in terms of balance. It makes short work of hedges and thinner branches. The cable could be 10 ft longer. The safety hasp that you attach to your person is useless...View More though, any pull on the cable will release it from the plastic grip and you don't know it has happened.View Less
