The new VoIP standard

With a VoIP phone, one can access a fast connection. It is the next standard after ISDN and has been used in companies for some time. For customers, not only modern technology is in focus, but above all, the savings. Additionally, new technical possibilities are available for companies that would not have been possible with ISDN.

Internet and phone on one line

Anyone wishing to use VoIP phone must first have a corresponding line activated by their provider. Unlike an ISDN phone, a VoIP phone does not run parallel to the internet line, but on the same channel. The signal is converted in a router or other hardware and then serves as the basis for the phone signal. In high-tech areas, such as in companies, this leads to a significant increase in performance and prevents the lines from collapsing under heavy load. The savings on costs are, of course, an advantage for VoIP phones – as calls between two channels with VoIP are fundamentally free.

The development of VoIP in the coming years

For companies, the many advantages can already be seen in the bills. With the increased usage in private households, VoIP is likely to spread relatively quickly here as well and lead to new developments. A modern house could, for example, be equipped without problems with dozens of phone numbers – for every child, every adult, and every private office in the household, there would then be a separate and independent number.
