I already had an existing makita 18v saw, with a motor just under 700 watts, which is a big as you can go in 18v. The 40v...View More wasn't something i fancied investing in, as i already have plenty of 18v batteries. So i picked the 36v, which has a 1700 watt motor and it packs some serious power. It flys through 2 inch timbers like a hot knife through butter, definitely on par with a corded unit iView Less

Makita. Heavy but really effective, I recommend. You do need a lot of hand strength, the hanging hook helps in high places, you can hang it on a ladder or wherever the hook fits
