I looked off and on for weeks to try and get a switch that helped me get a good amount of 10GbE *AND* 2.5GbE ports. I liked the management of the QNAP, and other simpler web management, so that's a big plus for me on this...View More one. I know a bunch of the pro-sumer (pro consumer) gear for 10GbE and 2.5-5.0GbE is somewhat newer, so it's rather expensive and not a million options in specs and costs, but it's getting better. There is no way to VLAN tag a LAGG once you set it up. Almost all other switches allow this, not sure why they missed this, but it pretty much makes it useless for LAGGs with network segregation.

I love this switch. I just wish that it didn't run so hot. I have turned off all the PoE. It is strictly running as a managed Ethernet switch. The other annoying thing is the lights blink constantly. If a port detects...View More anything on the other end, the light blinks. Blinking for activity would be nice (like most switches).View Less

Update 6/1/2023: QNAP came out with 2.0 firmware, which is a MAJOR update. For me, it addresses all the shortcomings of the 1.x. For example, you can now label ports and VLANs. From the UI you can also now configure a lot more...View More features: Link aggregation, RSTP, ACL, QoS, Port mirroring, LLDP, loop protection, and more. Plus in the UI you can now add a LAG to a VLAN, which you were unable to do in 1.x firmware. Two thumbs up!

- Medium sized, quiet, boots fast
- Web UI is friendly with many options
- Console port (115200 N/8/1), very IOS-like cli
- You can enable SSH, SNMP, and syslog via console/cli
- No funky phone-home activity I could...View More detect
- Config edited in cli is retained if saved (e.g. `copy run start`) and some options are even reflected in web UI (VLANs)
Cons:
- Expensive
- Found a preset user named 'api' in the config, appears to be used by the web UI (removing it breaks the web UI)
