I bought this item based on it being water proof. I put it together and 3 days later we had a 2 day rainfall.
I didnt think to check the box until a few days after the rain, but the items I had in it were ruined. I am so happy with this wood storage box ,I uses it indoor as shoes and school bags storage.
It is excellent quality,easy to install and beautiful as well.

Took forever to assemble, then stained my cushions from the wood stain, then literally fell apart at the joints. Screwed joints are fine, but places attached at the manufacturer pulled apart when I used the lid a few times....View More Completely unacceptable.View Less

Took two afternoons to assemble. Looks like teak, but doesn't hold up. Wood has faded and warped in the couple months we've had it. Stay away.

Looks great and serves its purpose, we did install it outdoors but protected from the rain by a porch. I would not install it somewhere fully open, it does come with a weatherproof bag though. The hydraulic system for the covers...View More works great but the hinges are weak and the bolts are too close to the edge. While installing the stay-in mechanism I got distracted by something, let go off the cover (dumb me) and the cover went back, the hinge was under stress for literally a millisecond, the boltsView Less
