In my opinion, SINGER brand sewing machines and products have lost their quality reputation. Owned a Singer machine that lasted over fifty years. My mom and Grandma owned Singer machines (Grandma had a treadle).
Bought this...View More ‘heavy duty’ rated Singer machine to sew blue jean material. After sewing for about 20 minutes, the machine motor started clanging and clunking internally. Everything about it is cheaply made with plastic instead of metal, including inner parts and gears. Junk!

Great machine -and a real value! Just mended multiple layers of denim, and it did so easily. I also mended some tights for the first time. The stretch stitch did amazingly well! I'm really impressed!

Machine sold and shipped from Italy by Italian company, came fitted with an un-fused two pin European plug. This was not made immediately obvious from the Amazon listing.
Delivered very swiftly as I had paid the premium delivery...View More charge. When unpacked we found that the seller had included an inferior, perhaps even illegal conversion plug for the machine to be used in the UK.
