I upgraded from a Shimano Acera to this derailleur. This has a stiffer spring that helps eliminate chain slap. I used a chain guide tensioner as well which completely eliminated any chain slap at all. Jumps & rough trails no...View More longer make me worry. If you have knowledge about installing derailleurs then it's a piece of cake. If not. Go to someone who does. But you can download the PDF Manual if you want to install it yourself. It's not hard.
