no drama easy install, works out of the box. You must use the included cable, be careful with included eSata cable.

I bought this to attached to my ds920 plus. Where I’m fitting it is really dark at the back of the computer desk. First all it wouldn’t power on, I found I’d put the kettle cable in the wrong way. I thought it was in but it...View More wasn’t. I couldn’t get the ds 920 plus to see the drives. It took me ages to work out what the problem was. It was the included esata cable. It screws into the ds 920 at the back and it looked like it was secure. The screws in the sata cable always seem to be out soView Less

These add 5 extra bays, I've got this one and a DX513. Found out by hooking it up to a Rackstation 816, RS816 that it does work with, at least, this model Rackstation.

Easy add on for my DS918+. This works as a slave unit. So you hook it to tbe main nas unit and it expands it assuming your using the SHR. The drives mu be the same size or bigger than the mains to use all the space. I had 4 8tb...View More drives so i had to add 8tb drives or bigger in the expansion. Took about a day and a half to intialize the drives. Shows all info on synology desktop. Connection cable is a little short, so it pretty must has to be side by side. Otherwise no issuesView Less
