Similarly, you'll find skins around your toes to ensure no water find it's way into the shoe; another precaution to keep you as dry as possible.Â

In the same vein, you'll find skins around the toes designed to ensure that no water find it's way into the shoes whilst providing some extra warmth.  You won't be surprised to know that the back of the tongue is insulated and acts to keep the top of your foot dry whilst the top of the trainer is coated with a PFC-free treatment for bullet-proof dryness.  Under the trainer, you'll find Nike's patented Storm-Tread outsole to provide traction in wet weather. Nike have stated that the texture of the outsole takes inspiration from winter tyres and we can see exactly what they mean. There are grooves throughout the sole to provide grip whilst the multi-directional shapes act to push water away from the trainer.
