The original one had been in place for well over a decade. It had less and less control for lowering temperature toward the end. This replaced the mixing valve and even though it had minor difference it is working perfectly and...View More has the same part number.View Less

This is my 3rd replacement. They last about 10-12 years. My Grohe shower unit is about 30+ yrs old. Great engineering. They are moderately easy to replace, and I do it myself.
1st photo shows old thermo-element taken out to...View More receive the new one. Far right & left are the water stop valves, then next to the cylinder are the hot and cold valves. 2nd picture show the complete overhaul of my other bathroom of both the thermo-element and the hot and cold valves.View Less
