An ALMOST perfect monitor

From Trustami
Let's start with what I absolutely love about this monitor:
- The display is easily visible in even direct sunlight. If Sony would provide camera bodies with 1000nit displays, I would be soooo happy!
- On-monitor recording...View More is a godsend! Seriously, this has saved my butt once already when the SD card in one of my cameras corrupted and was entirely unrecoverable. I didn't lose a single video because the monitor stored them on the SSD in full quality.

While it doesn't have a built in battery, it does come with a dummy that can be plugged into an outlet via cable. I would recommend ordering a battery though if you are using this for any sort of client presentation or...View More preview. While it is a little complicated at first, it becomes easy to use after a day of shooting. It was my first monitor so I may have had a steeper learning curve. I shoot a Sony a6400 and Sony a7r5 and it works great on both!View Less

There's a reason everyone is talking about this monitor

there's a reason this is such a popular monitor. It's bright, well built, has storage options and a multitude of internal features. Yes, it's a bit more expensive but because it's so bright, it makes setting the...View More exposure an absolute breeze. it's a joy to work with and if you're on the fence about it then I would suggest going for it. worth the money for sure.View Less

Sharing my experience with Atomos customer service in case you need to utilize the product warranty: I had to send my damaged Ninja V+ in for repairs, but as of today, I still haven't received it back. Unfortunately, my...View More repaired product was mistakenly sent back to Atomos, and despite contacting customer service and receiving assurances like "we are committed to resolving this situation as swiftly as possible," several months have passed with no progress. UNACCEPTBLE discrepancy between camera's exposure and monitor's
|
24/09/2023

From Trustami
apparently this is well documented on the internet - I certainly had no problem finding other users with the same problem. That is, you set exposure on your camera (A7SIII) but the Ninja displays AND RECORDS a brighter,...View More overexposed file - the exposures simply do not match!
The best I can do at the moment is turn the Rec.709 LUT off and adjust exposure from 90% to 100% (as I am shooting in S-Log 3) but doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of a MONITOR!
UNACCEPTBLE!View Less
