Castlevania: Lords of Shadow takes place amid a dark and threatening age. The once successful alliance of Earth with the heavenly powers is threatened by a dark and evil force - the mysterious Lords of Shadow. Darkness rules the world, and the souls of the dead wander over the destroyed land in search of peace. Sinister creatures of evil spread fear and terror among the still living people. The player takes on the role of the main character Gabriel. He is a member of the Brotherhood of Light, a chosen group of holy knights who protect and defend the innocent against the supernatural forces of terror.
