I bought this for my son on his 18th birthday but upon first opening, there’s a washer that was not installed properly and one side tools are loose and clang freely. I feel it’s t’s faster to just buy another and return this one...View More but I’m surprised this passed QC.
It’s a beautiful piece that will last a lifetime.View Less

The Surge pretty much has everyone need, and feels extremely solid/durable.
I like how you can flip both the straight and serrated blades out with one hand. The scissors cut like a champ too!
The only cons I can think of is that...View More it is heavy and big! It takes some getting used to on your belt.
Have a small absorbent towel ready when you first take this out of the box, it's got a bit of packing oil on it.View Less

Very stiff, beware of the black coating

I bought this having had a great experience with a Leatherman Wave +. Went with the black coating because of the looks, it looks beautiful. However, the tool was extremely stiff. The pliers were inoperable and very hard to close...View More properly. I had to manually open and close them about 200 times to get to a point were there's some stiffness still, but it's much better.
