Excellent sound quality on all inputs and outputs.Windows ASIO drivers enabling 0.5ms latency for recording and very stable 10ms latency for mixing. It is true, you can't get such low latency and/or CPU usage from anything...View More but PCI express chips. In that domain, USB audio interfaces can't compete. The only thing I found a bit subpar is the digital input (digital output works fine), where it can't sync to 88.2KHz signal (but it can to 96KHz) and needs higher latency to be able to sync.View Less
A solidly performing well feature specced card but with underwhelming latency

Despite reporting sub millisecond ASIO latencies on lower buffer sizes this card seems to have an additional internal latency somewhere of about 8ms so the actual round trip latency you will get is your reported ASIO latency + 8...View More (or thereabouts).Fair play the card has really good connectivity and features generally - a onboard hi-z instrument port, a mix port with phantom power etc but such mediocre latency performance means most people wanting to record bass and guitar should probably lookView Less

Move over Beethoven :-)
but the ESI-JULI@ PCI was the superior product to them all

There is no EMI shield or Isolated audio power, and not sufficient power filtering, there was artificial computer noise introduced from the gain in the analog 1/4th output. The card did however have a very high quality spidif,...View More however that defeats one of the most important aspects of the card. When comparing to the ESI JULI@ which was a PCI sound card, it does not even come close. Additionally the card only goes up to 96khz, which in all honesty is a travesty. The PCI ESI Maya44 goes up toView Less
