My experience with this scanner was not so good. I was looking for a scanner that wasn't too fussy and would give me reasonable quality, medium res scans for printing out at a small size.
It was easy enough to set up and use...View More and the film holder is much better than the 8100 I bought after returning this scanner. That's about all I say that's good about this model.
It feels cheap and flimsy. It won't run without (the over simplified) Plustek software, but the software was unstableView Less

I am now helping a friend do some scanning and I found that it works quite well with Vuescan software. Speed is pretty much what you'd expect and the quality of the scans looks good enough that the limitation on quality is...View More definitely the quality of the slides or negatives, not the scanner.
