Since this pump uses quartz sand instead of filter cartridges, it is a particularly inexpensive filter method. While cartridges should be replaced every two weeks, quartz sand can be used for up to three years. The sand reliably catches dirt particles and impurities. A pre -filter with a removable strainer basket collects the coarse dirt beforehand and thus ensures a longer service life of the pump.
