The player experiences epic moments in Call of Duty on the battlefields of the most legendary conflicts of World War II, including D-Day as well as the battles for Berlin and Stalingrad. He sees the world through the eyes of ordinary soldiers and nameless heroes from the countries whose alliance decisively shaped the course of modern world history. The player experiences moments on the battlefield as they have previously only been portrayed in major Hollywood blockbusters. No matter which of the 24 missions are undertaken, whether the Battle of Berlin, the assault on Stalingrad by the Russian infantry, or the jump of the US paratroopers on D-Day, combat always takes place with authentic weapons (with the original sound of the real weapons from World War II).
